So, I've got a lot of ground to cover, and I've got 42 minutes to do it. Except it'll actually be more like 30 minutes, as my laptop always seems to over-estimate its power. God, I've wasted about 60 seconds right there. The laptop information wasn't even that important. Or interesting.
So, onward:
- I am writing this cruising at several thousand feet, somewhere above Russia. This is because Korean Airlines has Wifi on board, which is possibly the best thing ever. I've managed to make a dent in my emails, as well as check out whether I should get laser eye surgery. They reckon you can watch IPTV up here, but I think the connections too slow in reality. Still, it's very exciting.
- I have been in Korea since Sunday. It's actually the furthest I've ever been, in my whole life, since I missed the practically compulsary pre/post Uni travelling thing. And to be honest, I'm much more at home being ferried from pillar to post via Executive coaches and 6 star hotels. Much more my scene.
- I have eaten very little in the past 6 days. This is as a result of weird Korean food, obviously, rather than any particular will power. We know better than that by now. I did try Kumchi, which is rotting cabbage, and weirdly I also tried sea urchin. I don't understand why I will try sea urchins but not cheese sauce. I'm very odd.
- Korea itself is really nice, although I actually got to see very little of it. I did however, see an awful lot of HD TVs. Everyone is incredibly polite, and it takes a while to get used to all the customs - accepting things with both hands, never pouring your own drink etc. Still, by day 5 I was like a native, apart from the completely bafflement of the language and the disgust at every national dish. But apart from that, native.
- I have acquired some very odd sleeping patterns. My body clock I think is set to Mongolia, or possibly Brazil. Still, its not England or Korea, that's for sure. I woke up at 4.30am this morning, and worked til breakfast.
- The TV thing has all gone a bit mental, thanks to dedicated PR mastery from the lovely Darika. I think I've been in the Metro, the Daily Mail, The Telegraph, London Lite and the Evening Standard. Alex reckons he heard me being talked about on Radio One as well. All I pray is that every single person I ever met has heard this, in particular ex-boyfriends and teachers who were mean to me. Being the self-obsessed person I am, I immediately Technorati'd myself, and there are even people with blogs who have written about me! So obviously, I commented on how they'd portrayed me. As you do. I wonder if Victoria Beckham ever indulges?
- Tomorrow is Alex's party, and as previously mentioned, I will be there as Adam Ant. Standing and Delivering.
I have finally decided what I'm going to for my sister's birthday party. I will be there as Adam Ant (Highway man era). Obviously, I've got a gender issue, but apart from that, it's perfect. There's pirate paraphenalia, and as Emma will vouch for, I've been making myself up as a New Romantic since I was very young. I will be looking something like this:
