Wow. I've been quiet lately, huh. This has inevitably left me with a backlog of things-only-interesting-to-me posts that I'm now going to wade through. Where to begin?
Thing number one
New Years Resolutions are as follows:
Try to eat vegetables. Start with the easy stuff, like roasted peppers, and then graduate to the stuff that makes you feel sick just to think about, like peas. Do not rule out the possibility of having some kind of therapy, possibly hynotherapy, to help you overcome this.
Drink less. On January 1st the intention was to not drink for a month, but unfortunately, this failed on the 5th. The new decision is to only drink if you're going for a big night out. So, no more wine with dinner, a quick glass of wine in the pub, or a baileys whilst watching crappy TV. You life is going to suck, but this thought indicates that it's about time you dealt with it.
Get very proactive with the whole dating thing. And do not end up in any kind of situation with someone from the previous year. Or years. This is 2007. This leads nicely onto...
..The Secret Project. Get very proactive on this as well.
Do not get stressed out about things that don't matter. Or because you think you should be stressed out. Or because the people around you are stressed out. Try coming down off the ceiling occassionaly.
Do not get angry when people say they worry about you. Even though it's making you angry right now just thinking about it. (This one might take a while).
Remember to appreciate the good stuff. There's lots of it.
Thing number two
I've just returned from Vegas, which was [insert adjective here. You can choose from knackering, amazing, weird, souless, brilliant, tonsolitus-envoking]. It's a weird city, because every single place you go is themed to look like somewhere else, so Las Vegas itself has no real personailty. It's like someone with serious multiple personailty issues, except all the personalities are tacky and gold. Saying that, I loved it. It's nice to go somewhere where the diet consists of gambling, alcohol, elvis and fries. You don't ever feel guilty for not visiting a museum. And the biggest achievement? Not getting married whilst drunk. I was genuinely quite frightened that I was going to do it.
Thing number three
I've noticed that something about blogs makes people catalogue their illnesses. So, here's mine. My throat hurts, my bones ache, my voice has gone all funny, my head hurts, my nose is sniffely, and I feel sorry for myself. Does anyone have any paracetamol?
And I'll leave you with this.
I'm hoping that by the 15th January 2007 I will be married. I also hope I will have seen Celine Dion, Elton John and at least 1,000 Elvis's. Or Elvi as i believe the plural is.
Obviously these are all things that can only happen in Vegas, so it's a stroke of luck that I'm off to that very place in January. The tickets were booked today, so it's official. In fact, it's so official that I'm now shackled to Shiny Media until then. And in a stroke of luck, they are also shackled to me.
I'm most excited about
- accidentally marrying someone in a Little Chapel
- standing on the moving pavements (I've been promised them)
- breathing the pure air in the casinos which makes you think you're not sleepy. This in particular I think is going to be really useful.
